July Early Readers Newsletter

Welcome to summer camp! We have a very busy and exciting summer ahead of us! I am excited to start this summer and to get to know your children! We have friends joining us from three different classrooms. I hope all of the children will make new friends and keep the friends they have made this year. 

For the parents and families of the students coming from other classrooms, here is a little bit about me!  My name is Stacie Cummings and I am the lead American teacher in the toddler room this year! I was born and raised in the wonderful state of Michigan! My family includes my dad, mom and my sister.  My mom has been a teacher for 26 years, my father is a machinist and my sister is studying Criminal Justice.

I studied at Central Michigan University in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.  I graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Development, with a double minor in Psychology and Communication Disorders.

Toddler June 2014 Newsletter

Well, it’s the last newsletter before summer break! It’shard to believe we are entering the last month of the school year! I’ve hadsuch an amazing time getting to know and teach your children!

I would also like to thank everyone that attendedParent-Teacher Conferences. It was a great time to talk about your child’s lifeat school and to brag about all the wonderful things they have accomplished!

CLASS UPDATES

The ToddlerRoom is always on the go at Morgan Rothschild Academy!  Serena, Anagha and Finnegan have enjoyedplaying doctor in the house.  They usethe stethoscope and the blood pressure cuff to make sure one another arehealthy.  The trucks have been popularbetween Eden, Daniel and Kai.  They fillthe backs of the trucks with blocks and roll all over the classroom.  Usually, destroying anything in their path! J Theice cream factory is a new area in our classroom.  Sara S., Shodai, and Hima have enjoyed samplingall of the ice cream cones and sharing them with friends and teachers!  The babies are still being looked after byour classroom moms, Sara, Rino and ShaSha. During work time, the girls make sure the babies are fed, rocked tosleep, and put to bed. JNeo has become our classroom enforcer. He does a great job helping his friendsremember the classroom rules!  Gabriel,Lion and Daniel Hu have been really been moving outside.  They run back and forth across the playgroundjumping and chasing Ms. Stacie! It is such a great game and we have a lot offun!

Preschool June 2014 Newsletter

With Mayending we are drawing near to the end of the school year.  It has been a wonderful year teaching yourchildren and watching them grow.  Also,thank you to all the parents for coming in during Parent Teacherconferences.  It was wonderful to see youall and discuss your child’s progress with you.

During June, wewill be working on a few last things to get your child ready forkindergarten.  We will continue learninghow to tell time using an analog clock and will work very hard on writing.

Parents,summer camp sign up is still going on. Ms. Stacie and Ms. Renee would love tosee your children here this summer.  Youcan sign your child up for the whole thing or, you can just pick certain weeks!  If you would like more information, pleasefeel free to ask!

Once again,it has been a pleasure teaching your children this year and while I will not betheir teacher next year, I look forward to seeing them back at MorganRothschild Academy and watching them continue to grow.

CLASS UPDATES

First of all, many of your children have impressed me with their readingskills this last month!  Apple and Angeladid an outstanding job during their first session of reading buddies!  Florentina was able to read Scaredy Cat allby herself after just in class practice! Emily Z, Kai, Lisa, Ann, and Aston are reading some of our beginningreader books on their own, demonstrating how many sight words they havelearned!  Lisa, Jules, and Riku haveenjoyed practicing our song Aiken Drum to the book we have in class.  Lucas and Jack have made huge improvementswith their writing over the course of the year and have both made our GreatWriters board in class! Emily W, Apple, Angela, and Nanding have really enjoyedour new music area and shopping area. Nanding also took the time to inform us all about the Disney Princessesshe saw on her America Trip.

Kindergarten June 2014 Newsletter

It is crazy to think we have entered into our last month ofschool. I have enjoyed every minute with your children and will miss them verymuch when our school year comes to the end.

CLASS UPDATES

As always wehave been very busy in the Kindergarten classroom. We have added a hospitalarea into our classroom and it has been very popular. Kylie, Meika and Florencehave been very busy playing doctors to our class! Penelope and Doreen have beenworking in the art area drawing me new pictures everyday. Zoe has been teachingthe class all the words to Frozen and sings it everyday for us. We are happythat Yolanda has returned from her vacation! We had certainly missed her! Theboys, as always, have been on the go! Toby has been working with David drawingtanks and other cars. Willy, Ken and Arthur have been playing good guy bad guyon the carpet.  They have always beenbuilding just about everything with the blocks. This class has truly been agreat class and I wish nothing but the best for them in all their futureendeavors!

Nursery May 2014 Newsletter

Last month we enjoyed getting ready for the SpringConcert.  For the concert we sang anddanced to Mary had a Little Lamb and The Bear went over the Mountain.  For the Finale all the classrooms danced toTwist and Shout.  In April we alsocelebrated lots of birthdays.  Maja,Alexander, Christopher, Vincent and Enya had their birthdays last month.  The favorite lesson of the month was dancingto the song Animal Action.  The childrengo to pretend to be ducks, lions and bees.

Alexander doesunexpected things all the time.  Theother day he ran towards me really fast and nearly knocked me over.  He said, “I am a car and go really fast.”Ashlee loves to help clean up.  I told everyone it was time to cleanup.  Ashlee ran to help clean-up but everythingwas cleaned up.  Ashlee was so sad thatshe could not help. Ms. Pan and Ms. Renee were dancing to the songs for theSpring Concert and Chio got up andstood next to us and began dancing with us. Chio loves to dance. Christopher was very tired, almostfalling asleep, and was sitting in the house wearing a chef hat and a doll anda phone in the other hand.  He lookedlike he was so exhausted taking care of his baby doll. Enya’s was playing in the jump room.  She picked up her favorite block and gaveit  to me.  She thinks it is very important to share. Jessica sat in the front of theclassroom and sat like a teacher holding the book and pointing at thepictures.  Other children came and satwith her to look at the book. Katie wassitting at the table and Mayu brought her a toy phone.  Katie picked up the phone and had quite along conversation then handed the phone back to Mayu.  Mayuloves to help everyone in the classroom.  Whenever someone is sador needs something Mayucomes and gets me and brings me to her friend.  Majalikes to play in the play house outside. She says, “Find me!” She hides and waits for me to find her.  Noahlovesto sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.  Oneday I let him sit in my chair in front of the class and sing it.  Stanleyand Ronald really likes to play the drums with his friends.  One day they beat on the drum and sang happybirthday with Ms. Pan. During work time Vincentreally enjoys playing with the balloons we have hanging from the ceiling in ourclassroom.   He points at them and tellsme what colors they are. Quasar likesto play with small blocks in our classroom. She builds little houses and towers and puts toys in them. Ziyin sang the first words of a songthis month. She said, “B. I. N. G. O!”

Toddler May 2014 Newsletter

I hopeeveryone enjoyed the Spring Concert at Morgan Rothschild Academy!  Thank you to everyone that came to watch thechildren perform! The Toddler Room worked extra hard on their songs and dances!I am very proud of all they accomplished and I hope you are too! It’s hard tobelieve our school year is coming to a close!

Class Updates

Well, there is never a dull moment inthe Toddler Room! Finnegan and Neo keep each other company in the artarea.  They share markers and reallyencourage each other.  Recently, Lion,Eden and Gabriel have been playing UltraMan. The boys run around the playground fighting bad guys!  Serena and Anagha have been spending quite abit of time in the house.  The girlsenjoy sitting and chatting about their day. Fishing has been a new and exciting thing in our classroom!  Hima, Sara, Sara S. and Shodai have been“catching fish,” and passing them out to their friends to eat! Daniel Hu,Daniel and Kai have made some pretty extravagant train tracks around theclassroom.  The boys have a great jobbuilding together.  Rino and ShaSha havebeen busy collecting leaves and flowers during outdoor time. Usually, they havequite the collection!
