Nursery Room December 2014 Newsletter

J Work Time is a great time of the day when children can explore and play with each other in the classroom.  The children make friends and have lots of fun.  Every day during  work time something special happens.  This month Neo and Joris took turns giving each other hugs.  Shiloh and LinLin read books with Ms. Tian.  Michael and Hanna played peekaboo in the play house by opening and closing the windows.  Mayu and Helen hid in the tent and laughed when I opened the door and found them.  After work time we all help each other clean up the room and then look forward to the next time.

November was a great month the children really enjoyed learning the songs for the Christmas concert and digging for pictures in a box of rice for the Exploration Lesson.

It will be getting cold soon don’t forget to send mittens for little cold hands. I will be gone the last two weeks of December for Christmas, but there will still be school as usual.

Jingle Bells
Jingle bells, jingle bells
Jingle all the way
Oh what fun it is to ride
In a one horse open sleigh!  Hey!
Dashing through the snow
In a one horse open sleigh
Over the fields we go!
Laughing all the way! Hahaha!
Bells on bobtails ring
Making spirits bright
What fun it is to ride and sing a sleighing song tonight

Toddler Room December 2014 Newsletter

2014 is already coming to an end!  We have had a productive and exciting 3 months of school.  Our trip to the zoo last month was a lot of fun! We saw many animals and enjoyed exploring with our friends!

The children have been working extremely hard to perfect their Christmas concert song and dance.  We are excited for our family and friends to watch us perform!

The most popular areas in the Toddler Room this month were the art area and the house area.  Joan, Ashlee, and Emilu have been perfecting their cutting skills.  They enjoy coloring pictures and then using the scissors to cut them out.  The music area has become popular with Katie and Quasar.  The girls put on the jewelry and dance around the room.  Koki and Chio are the chefs of our classroom.   Alexander, Christopher, and Vincent have been scary pirates!  The pirates chase each other around the classroom and wrestle on the carpet.  Our classroom "clean team," is composed of Winnie, Candy, and Chloe.  The girls make sure the toys are put away and that their friends are helping clean as well.  All of our Toddler friends enjoy their time outside riding bicycles and running from the dinosaur (Mr. Morgan)! :)

Toddler Room November 2014 Newsletter

I can't believe we have made it through another month of school! It seems like the year is flying by!  Friendships are blossoming in the Toddler Room and I hope it continues throughout the year!

We have recently started our songs for the Christmas concert!  I have included the lyrics here and would be happy to give you the music as well! Practice! Practice! Practice!

CLASSROOM UPDATE
Well, the Toddler Room has been quite busy as usual!  We have missed our friend Winnie this month! The entire class is awaiting her return to school! The most popular area in our classroom is the kitchen and house area.  Joan, Chio, Chloe, and Koki bring food from the kitchen into the house.  They sit and enjoy lunch together. Alexander, Christopher, and Vincent make great lions! They crawl around the floor roaring and chasing the girls.  Recently, they revealed they were nice lions.  Katie and Quasar bring food from the kitchen to feed the nice lions.  Candy, Ashlee, and Emily keep our art area messy! They enjoy coloring with the markers, cutting with the scissors and using the glue to put the paper back together!  The friendships that have formed are spectacular! All of the children are excellent sharers and get along great!

O CHRISTMAS TREE
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
Your leaves are so unchanging!
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
Your leaves are so unchanging!
Not only green, when summer's here,
But also when it's cold and drear.
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
Your leaves are so unchanging!
From top to bottom, you're so bright!
There's only splendor for the sight.
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree
Your lights are shining brightly!
O Christmas tree, O Christmas tree

ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS
All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth

All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth, my two front teeth, just my two front teeth,
Gee, if I could only have my two front teeth than I could wish you Merry Christmas!
It seems so long since I could say, “Sister Susie sitting on a thistle!”
Gosh, oh gee, how happy I’d be
If I could only whistle!
All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth, my two front teeth, just my two front teeth,
Gee, if I could only have my two front teeth than I could wish you Merry Christmas!

Preschool 1 November 2014 Newsletter

October was a busy month! We started Christmas concert rehearsal, celebrated Halloween, and said good bye to Daniel Hu.  This month we will begin to learn about Dinosaurs!
Kai, ShaSha, and Emily have done a wonderful job quickly learning the words to our concert song. Anagha has made our top writer board every single week for six weeks in a row now!  Daniel, Finnegan, and Gabriel are doing a great job reading the Guided Reading books without help on the second day!  Shodai predicted all the sink and float items correctly! Sara, Anagha, and Rino are enjoying the Frozen costumes in the house area and Neo likes to style hair so it looks like Elsa!  Eden and Emily made some interesting predictions about pumpkin seeds.  Eden was so close to being correct and Emily used the word infinity!

Give her a doll that laughs & cries!
One that will open & shut her eyes!

FROSTY THE SNOWMAN
Frosty the Snowman
Frosty the snowman was a jolly happy soul
With a corncob pipe and a button nose and two eyes made out of coal
Frosty the snowman is a fairy tale they say
He was made of snow but the children know how he came to life one day
There must have been some magic in that old silk hat they found
For when they placed it on his head
he began to dance around
Oh Frosty the snowman was alive as he could be
And the children say he could laugh
and play just the same as you and me
