August Early Reader Newsletter

It’s hard to believe Summer Camp Frolic is half way over! I feel like we have just arrived!  We have learned new songs and practiced old ones. So far, our classroom has kept extra busy with projects.

We planted watermelon seeds 3 weeks ago and have continued to watch them grow.  The children examine them and water them on a daily basis.  Recently, the children had to opportunity to transplant their little plants into large pots outside.  The used shovels to dig up the dirt to fill their pots and added water after the plants were successfully transferred.  We are very hopeful we will be eating watermelon soon!  Upcoming projects include, tissue paper bowls, foot painting, and paper plate jellyfish!

Just a bit of information for you…  I am no longer writing the children’s names on their homework.  I think this is good practice for them!  Please encourage your children to write their names on homework each night! Thank you for your continued support!

Again, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call or e-mail me.  My number is 137-6471-6014 and my e-mail is cummi1sl@gmail.com.  Please remember Friday’s are water play days. The children will need towels and an extra change of clothes.

Baby Beluga
Baby Beluga in the deep blue sea
Swim so wild and swim so free
The sky above and the sea below
See the little white whale on the go
Oh baby Beluga, oh baby Beluga, is the water warm?
Is your mama home with you so happy?
Way down under where the dolphins play
Where you swim and splash all day
Waves roll in and the waves roll out
See the water squirting out of your spout
Baby Beluga, oh, baby Beluga, sing your little song
Sing for all your friends, we'll like to hear you
When it's dark you're home and fed
Curl up snug in your water bed
Moon is shining and the stars are out
Good night, little whale, goodnight
Baby Beluga, oh, baby Beluga, with tomorrow's sun
Another day's begun, you'll soon be waking
Baby Beluga in the deep blue sea
Swim so wild and swim so free
The sky above and the sea below
And a little white whale on the go
You're just a little white whale on the go!
